Decades of Experience With Advanced Technology
Technology is only as effective as the clinician using it. The Rubino dental team has been at the forefront of periodontal technology adoption for decades, providing extensive experience in translating advanced tools into superior patient outcomes.
30+ Years of 3D Surgical Planning
Dr. Thomas Rubino has been planning surgeries three-dimensionally for over three decades, evolving from traditional methods to today’s sophisticated digital planning software. This extensive experience with spatial visualization and surgical planning provides a deep understanding that ensures optimal implant placement and treatment outcomes.
Diamond Partner & All-on-4® Center of Excellence
Dr. Rubino is a Diamond Partner of Nobel Biocare™—the highest level of partnership awarded by the company that developed the All-on-4® technique. This prestigious designation is only received by a select number of dentists worldwide. We are also proud to be recognized as an official All-on-4® Treatment Concept Center of Excellence by Nobel Biocare. These special statuses recognize Dr. Rubino’s expertise in this advanced procedure as well as the many successful cases he completes every year using cutting-edge digital planning and guided surgery technology.
Pioneers in Minimally Invasive Techniques
Our doctors were among the first in the region to adopt advanced technologies like cone beam CT scanning, digital implant planning, and piezoelectric surgery. This early adoption means thousands of successful cases using these technologies, giving you the confidence of proven expertise.
Dr. Thomas Rubino is one of only 1,500 practitioners worldwide certified in the Chao Pinhole® Surgical Technique for gum recession—a testament to his commitment to mastering the most advanced, minimally invasive treatment options available.
This combination of technological skill and decades of clinical experience ensures you receive care that leverages the best of modern equipment while benefiting from seasoned judgment that technology alone cannot provide.
Our Advanced Dental Technology
Cone Beam 3D CT Scanner (OP300)
Three-dimensional imaging has transformed periodontal diagnosis and treatment planning. Our OP300 cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) scanner provides detailed 3D views of your teeth, jaw, sinuses, and surrounding structures that traditional 2D X-rays cannot capture.
- Benefits for Implant Planning: CBCT imaging is essential for precise dental implant placement. The 3D scans reveal exact anatomical structures, allowing our doctors to plan dental implant position with millimeter accuracy before surgery begins. Images are imported into specialized planning software to determine the optimal position, depth, and angle for each implant.
- Comprehensive Diagnostic Information: Beyond implants, CBCT imaging helps evaluate bone loss from gum disease, assess the need for bone grafting, locate infections or pathology, and provide detailed views for complex surgical planning.
- Lower Radiation, Higher Comfort: Modern CBCT technology delivers detailed 3D images with significantly less radiation than traditional medical CT scans. The scan takes only seconds and requires no uncomfortable positioning.
Digital Implant Planning Software & Surgical Guides
Your 3D CT scan images are imported into specialized software that precisely plans the position, depth, and angle of insertion for each dental implant.
This technology allows our doctors to place implants where bone is most dense and capable of providing maximum support, and to plan any necessary bone grafting ahead of time.
Piezosurgery Unit
Our piezosurgery device uses controlled microvibrations to precisely sculpt bone tissue while minimizing trauma to soft tissue. This technology is far more accurate and much less invasive than traditional surgical instruments.
Piezosurgery is employed in procedures requiring bone reshaping, as part of bone grafting procedures, and to gently release teeth from their sockets so that tooth extractions are minimally traumatic. The precision of this technology reduces post-operative discomfort and accelerates healing.
Digital X-Rays & Panoramic Imaging
Digital radiography has replaced traditional film X-rays throughout our practice, providing immediate images with up to 90% less radiation exposure. Digital X-rays appear on chairside monitors within seconds, allowing us to review them with you immediately and explain findings in real-time.
Our digital panoramic X-rays provide a crisp, two-dimensional view of the entire mouth, clearly showing teeth, jaw, sinuses, and facial structures. These images are invaluable for planning extractions and dental implant placement.
Surgical Magnification Loupes
Drs. Thomas, Ryan, and Tyler Rubino, along with our hygienists, use surgical magnification eyeglasses (loupes) for a clear view of tiny areas during treatment. Magnification allows our doctors to use micro instruments and limit the treatment area with exceptional precision, making procedures minimally invasive and reducing recovery time.
Ultrasonic Scalers
Our ultrasonic scalers gently and thoroughly remove accumulated bacterial plaque and calculus from teeth. These devices use high-frequency vibrations to break up deposits quickly and effectively.
The vibrations also shatter the cell membranes of disease-causing bacteria, destroying them on contact. Ultrasonic scalers can clean deeper than traditional hand scaling instruments while being adjustable for patient comfort. Many patients find ultrasonic cleaning more comfortable than traditional methods.
Prophy-Jet Spray Cleaning Device
Our hygienists use this specialized jet-spray cleaning instrument for thorough cleaning and polishing. The device shoots a high-pressure stream of sodium bicarbonate that removes stubborn stains from coffee, smoking, and other substances while cleaning tiny crevices that brushing, flossing, or other instruments cannot access.
Medical-Grade Air Purifiers
Each of our offices is equipped with medical-grade air purifiers that maintain the highest standards of cleanliness. These systems utilize high-efficiency filtration, including HEPA filters, ULPA filters, and ASHRAE filters that remove 99.97% of particles, bacteria, and viruses from the air—providing an exceptionally safe and clean environment for your care.
3D Printer
Our in-office 3D printer allows us to create highly accurate surgical guides, dental models, and customized dental components directly from digital treatment plans. This technology improves efficiency, precision, and control throughout the treatment process.
In-Office Dental Laboratory
Our in-office dental laboratory allows our doctors and technicians to work together closely to create and customize restorations and dental appliances. Keeping laboratory services in-house provides greater control over fit, quality, aesthetics, and turnaround time.
Intraoral Scanner
Our intraoral scanner captures detailed 3D digital impressions of your teeth and gums without traditional impression trays or messy materials. These digital scans can be used for treatment planning, dental implants, surgical guides, and customized restorations.
Benefits of Advanced Dental Technology
Modern periodontal technology provides advantages that improve every aspect of your care experience:
- More Accurate Diagnoses: 3D imaging and digital X-rays reveal bone loss, infections, and anatomical considerations that might be missed with traditional 2D radiographs, leading to earlier detection and more conservative treatment.
- More Precise Treatment: Digital planning tools and surgical guides ensure implants are positioned optimally and procedures are executed with millimeter accuracy, improving success rates and longevity.
- Increased Comfort: Piezosurgery, ultrasonic scalers, and advanced imaging techniques reduce discomfort during and after treatment compared to traditional methods.
- Reduced Radiation Exposure: Digital X-rays and modern CBCT scanners use significantly less radiation than older imaging technologies while providing superior diagnostic information.
- Faster Treatment & Healing: Minimally invasive techniques and precise surgical planning reduce treatment time and accelerate recovery, allowing you to return to normal activities sooner.
- Better Communication: Chairside monitors displaying your X-rays, 3D scans, and treatment plans help you understand your oral health and proposed treatments more clearly than verbal descriptions alone.
- Improved Outcomes: The combination of advanced technology and our doctors’ extensive experience using these tools leads to more predictable, longer-lasting results.
